Welcome to Art by D. Fisk.
Landscape artist, Dennis Fisk, of Lake Stevens, Washington paints landscapes and seascapes from photographs, using watercolors, gouache* and acrylics. His brilliant colors capture the essence of the outdoors in the great Pacific Northwest.
"I like to express my feelings about the outdoors through my paintings. Here, in the Pacific Northwest, I see beauty in the evergreen trees, mountains, countryside and water".
Whether it is a landscape with mountains or a seascape at sunset; the vivid colors and joy of seeing it for the first time, are captured in his paintings.
Originals and Giclee** type reproduction prints are available through this website and at local art fairs. Both originals and giclee prints are on acid free, archival watercolor paper.
Commission jobs for personal or business placements are gladly accepted.
The artist has completed commission works from sketches and photographs for placement in personal collections. He also has sold his artwork to local businesses.
*Gouache (pronounced Gwa-ah-sh) is a water based paint similar to watercolor. Gouache has more pigment and therefore the colors are more brilliant than watercolors.
**A "Giclee" (pronounced zhee-clay) is a reproduction type of print. It is much more than just a "print". Prints are usually 4 color lithograph types, whereas a Giclee is either a 8 color or 11 color reproduction process.
The giclee type prints are so closely matched to the originals, that it is difficult to tell them apart.
